About Jennifer Jenkins-Boitnott

I am an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) Therapist. I specialize in working with adults (primarily women & LGBTQ clients) who are struggling with PTSD, anxiety, and feeling overwhelmed. I focus on offering EMDR sessions as an adjunct service to primary therapy - this means clients who come to see me have a primary therapist the they have been and continue working with, and just meet with me to focus on using EMDR to help them accelerate their progress in therapy.

No, you don't have too many issues to address in counseling. Humans are complex, and just based on the little bit of information you have shared, it sounds like you have likely experienced quite a bit of trauma in your life. Finding the right therapist means finding one that feels like a good fit for your needs in therapy and your personality style. The therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in therapy being successful or beneficial. When you have found a good fit, that means - you feel comfortable with... more
