About Ian Palombo

I’m a therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor in Denver, but you can also call me a Life-Untangler, Performance Coach, Thought Mediator, and Eating Disorder Translator.

I help anxious humans feel less anxious in their relationships and perform better in their lives. My ideal clients are practicing and retired athletes, health care professionals, and those with high-stress and high-risk careers.

Are you an athlete that struggles with performance, or issues related to stress or injury? If so, I can help you perform consistently, navigate injury, an overcome stress-related issues. Are you dealing with off-the-field issues like anxiety or depression? I will help you untangle the mess and learn new skills to minimize their impact.

Entrepreneurs and high-stress professionals are some of my favorite individuals to work with. I help busy individuals prioritize responsibilities, improve productivity, and restore strained relationships. Feeling burnt out and overwhelmed? Then I can help you recharge and find a calmer balance; whether you’ve lost it or don’t feel like you’ve ever had it.

I earned my M.A. in Applied Sport and Performance Psychology from the Graduate School of Professional Psychology at the University of Denver, and my B.S. in Organizational Behavior and Leadership from the University of Rhode Island. I have held numerous other certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

I trained for five years at a prominent eating disorder treatment center in Denver. I served as a Primary Therapist, Program Director, Athletic Clinician, among other roles. I helped design and implement the most comprehensive eating disorder treatment program in the country specifically designed for athletes.

I have served as a Sport and Performance Psychology Consultant, a Strength & Conditioning Coach, a Personal Trainer, Corporate Wellness Consultant, and - perhaps most surprising - Senior Accountant for a midsize healthcare company.

It's more than just normal, it's expected! Quite honestly, there are a very few days where at least one client hasn't cried during therapy throughout the day.
