About Angela Mason, LMSW

I work with adults, adolescents/teens, couples, and families who are looking for change and improvement in their lives, and I would be honored to walk with you on your unique journey. Life will be overwhelming at times, and it can be difficult to maneuver if we continue to rely upon the same coping skills/strategies or support circles which may no longer serve or support us. But where to begin? I have experience working with anxiety, depression, self-harm and feelings of hopelessness, emotional dysregulation, familial conflict, and developmental disabilities, in addition to many other areas and diagnoses.

Selecting the right therapist can be an overwhelming and anxiety provoking task. Our first appointment is absolutely your opportunity to interview me, as much as I am getting to know you. I will provide an objective view point and an empathetic ear, in addition to my years of clinical experience utilizing research based therapeutic strategies and skills.

I appreciate you taking the time to review my profile and am hopeful you may already connect to something I have shared. I would like to acknowledge your vulnerability and courage- opening up to someone new is not easy and it is my absolute responsibility to foster a strong sense of trust and safety in our sessions. I look forward to talking with you.

It sounds as though your daughter is struggling to manage her anxiety and she is having really big reactions to what you view as small problems or issues. What have you tried with her in the past? As exhausting as it might be, a good first step is to empathize and validate her feelings.
