About Amy Standifer

At the end of the day…I want to help people, like you — wrestle with the painful and messy areas of life that keep you feeling “ashamed”, “alone”, “stuck” and “worthless”.

Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, disordered eating, grief, marital/relationship issues, sexual intimacy or trauma/abuse — I want you to have a “safe space” to wrestle with the questions you often wonder about difficult issues. This pain you experience may even cause you to have questions about God.

As a Christian counselor, my approach to counseling is Christ-centered and Biblically based. When Christ interacted with others he was always accepting of the person, yet cared enough to confront their unhealthy attitudes, behaviors, and choices. He explored the matters of their heart and offered them an alternative (healthier) way of living.

Additionally, having grown up as a pastor’s kid, I understand the unique struggles faced by families in ministry, striving to live out your faith in an authentic way when hurtful things happen.

I offer professional Christian counseling and sex therapy as a licensed Professional Counselor in Texas (#68306). My post-graduate training is in christian sex therapy from Richmont Graduate University in Atlanta, Georgia.

A person never has "too many" issues to address in counseling. Participating in counseling with a licensed professional offers a safe place and therapeutic relationship where healing can occur. A trained therapist can help a person unpack and process past and/or current wounds (or events) which may... more
