About Allison Schickedanz, LMHC

My name is Allison and have been working in a helping profession since I was 19 years old. I transitioned from my prior career to being in the mental health field so I could work with kids, adolescents and adults. Things have changed, now I focus on adolescents, adults and families. I love being able to help people, whatever they might be experiencing, being with them while they face their issues, changing and growing to work through their past experiences to be better prepared for the future, while still enjoying the present.

I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety and depression. I am EMDR level I & II trained, as well as NCC and CCMHC certified. Many of my clients are struggling with feelings of anxiety and depression, whether it is something they have been dealing with for weeks, months or years, it is something that can be addressed and overcome.

Are you struggling with feelings of anxiety or depression? Having trouble with communicating how to you feel to others? Is someone in your family, such as your child, spouse or other family member experiencing these things? These are things I would like to help you with.

My goal is to help you or your family to lead happier, well-balanced lives by helping to deal with the issues you face. When you feel as though you are ready and willing to begin the process of working on yourself and healing, you may call me at (305) 417-7075 to schedule an appointment.

I am so sorry to here about what you are experiencing. Your question is kind of difficult to answer, because there are a lot of things that go into what caused you to develop PTSD in the first place. This sounds like a pretty difficult dynamic and I am sorry to hear how it is impacting you.I would encourage you to try and observe the relationship from an outside perspective to begin with. Try to see what it is that causes your mom to be upset (such as you responding in a tone of voice she doesn... more

I am so sorry to hear that you are experiencing this. It can be really hard to deal with our family dynamics, especially when you feel this way and are being told these things. I would encourage you to keep in touch with people who support you, whether that is friends, a group or club you are... more
