About Stacey Shapiro

Over the past 20+ years, I have successfully provided counseling to adults, young adults, adolescents, children and their families, who experience a vast array of difficulties such as anxiety, trauma, phobias, learning disabilities, depression, anger, sleepless nights, loss and grief. You won’t find me just nodding and reflecting. My style is to provide feedback and psychoeducation so you can be informed about the process and what is needed to move forward. Innovative approaches to counseling is provided because sometimes talk therapy doesn’t work alone. Collaboration with you to ensure you feel safe during the sessions is important so deeper healing can begin.

Trauma does not have to come from a huge event. It can be from poor parenting, medical issues, a fender bender. It is the way your brain and nervous system works. I hear many people say well I haven't gone through any traumatic event but when we look at it there have been many experiences that could have been traumatic. With exploration we often find out trauma has occurred and is behind the anxiety and depression.

When these feelings or symptoms are interfering with your work, school, relationships, or health it is time to start the healing process through counseling.

In addition, I provide workshops and consultation to other therapists and their patients on topics such as Energy Psychology, SoulCollage(R) and Mindfulness Meditation. My experiences include adjunct professor at Pennsylvania State University Brandywine campus, Temple University Ambler Campus Play Therapy program and Montgomery County Community College.
